Pound Ridge Cops Charge Man with Driving with Suspended License

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a 23-year-old Bronxville man last week and charged him with aggravated unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Police arrested Joshua I. Moore after they pulled him over during a routine traffic stop on Westchester Avenue last Friday. After pulling him over, a DMV check revealed Moore’s license was suspended, police said. Besides the unauthorized operation charge, Moore also was issued two other summonses – for following too close and for traveling 62 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Moore was released on $250 bail and is scheduled to return to justice court March 5.

FEB. 22

Police were called to a residence on Salem Road on the report of a fire. There was smoke in the house due to a wood-burning stove. The fire was put out without any further problems and the homeowners were advised to have their chimney checked.

FEB. 23

Police issued a ticket to a motorist parked on the sidewalk along Westchester Avenue.

FEB. 24

Police responded to a call about a stray dog. A beagle was found on the corner of Pinebrook and Old Corner roads and is currently at the Pound Ridge veterinarian.

FEB. 25

Police received a call about a downed tree blocking South Bedford Road. Officers were able to move it to the side of the road and the highway department was notified.

Police issued two traffic summonses to a motorist on Westchester Avenue; one for traveling 51 mph in a 30 mph zone and the other for having an expired inspection sticker.

Police issued a ticket to a motorist for having no tail lamp.

FEB. 28

Police issued a ticket to a motorist on Westchester Avenue for failure to obey a traffic-control device.
