  • Making recommendations to the president for committee appointments as well as program and policy formation and implementation.
  • Serving as a resource for chapter formation.
  • Presenting member issues to the NGNA board or management company.

Wexler has held leadership positions at Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center and most recently was the director of nursing research at New York Hospital Queens.

Wexler holds American Nurses Credentialing Center certification in medical surgical nursing, nursing administration and as a gerontological clinical nurse specialist.

She started her nursing career as a staff nurse at the Jack D. Weiler Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Division.

The National Gerontological Nursing Association was founded in 1984. It is dedicated to the clinical care of older adults across diverse care settings. Members include clinicians, educators, and researchers with vastly different educational preparation, clinical roles and interest in practice issues.
