POUND RIDGE, N.Y. - Hurricane Sandy knocked out power for almost all customers in Pound Ridge as of Tuesday morning, according to New York State Electric and Gas reports.
An estimated 2,361 out of 2,365 NYSEG customers in Pounds Ridge were without power 9 a.m. Tuesday. It’s unclear when customers can expect power to return.
The National Weather Service has downgraded Sandy to a post-tropical cyclone, but the storm is still producing sustained winds up to 65 mph according to the NWS 5 a.m. update. A wind advisory is still in effect for Westchester County until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Weather officials said the brunt of the storm hit the area Monday night, but additional power outages could occur throughout Tuesday.

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – New York State Electric & Gas is reporting that as of 4:30 p.m. on Monday, 1,083 of its 2,365 Pound Ridge customers had lost power due to high winds generated by the approaching Hurricane Sandy.
The areas hardest hit include Westchester Avenue with 166 outages, Horseshoe Hill Road with 65, Stone Hill Road with 51, South Bedford Road with 46 and Pound Ridge Road with 44.
According to NYSEG, some streets may have power restored as early as 6 p.m., Monday.
