Greenburgh police said Christine left home on her "own accord" after a disagreement with a parent. She is classified as an "endangered missing juvenile."

Greenburgh police are seeking confidential tips and details on Christine's possible whereabouts at 914-989-1700. Metro-North surveillance video showed her boarding a southbound train in Scarsdale and exiting Grand Central Terminal on Lexington Avenue near 43rd Street about 11:10 p.m. Friday Jan. 2.

The first three hours after a child disappears are the most critical. While the murder of an abducted child is rare, 76 percent of children killed after an abduction occurred within the first three hours.

As of Dec. 31, 2013, there were 84,136 active missing person cases, of which children under the age of 18 accounted for 33,849 or about 40 percent, according to the FBI's National Crime Information Center. A total of 627,911 missing person cases were reported that year, and roughly the same number of cases were cleared or canceled when a person was found or returned home.

The good news is that the national center has assisted law enforcement in locating 202,667 missing children since it was founded in 1984. Its recovery rate has grown from 62 percent in 1990 to 97 percent today.

Christine also is among about 80 children listed missing by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services on this web site. Its contact number is 1-800-FIND-KID. The state web site says, "Ji Woo may be depressed and in need of medical attention."

Christine moved from Greenwich, Conn., to Robin Hill Road in the town of Greenburgh with her parents and a sibling about a year ago. She is a junior at Edgemont High School.
