The Katonah museum is recommended for a $20,000 grant to support the development of the ArteJuntos/ArtTogether program, which is designed to empower low-income immigrant parents as resourceful facilitators of their children's learning at home, in the museum and in their communities.

“The Katonah Museum of Art appreciates this affirming support from the NEA," Darsie Alexander, executive director of the museum, said in a statement. "With the grant award, we can strengthen and embolden our model community-based program.”

The NEA received 1,515 eligible applications under the Art Works category, requesting more than $76 million in funding. Of those applications, 886 are recommended for grants for a total of $25.8 million.
