The election will take place at the Pound Ridge Library from 2-8 p.m.
Under the charter of the Special District Library, board trustees are elected to three-year terms by town residents. Qualifications include a commitment to serve the designated term, the ability to attend evening meetings on the third Tuesday of each month, occasional working sessions and the ability to participate on at least one subcommittee.
Skills, such as financial, organizational and public relations, are needed.
Residents who would like to run for library trustee should obtain petitions from the library or download them from the library website here. Petitions need a minimum of 10 signatures of people ages 18 and older who are registered to vote in general elections in the town of Pound Ridge.
These petitions can filed at the library or with board Secretary Jennifer Coulter no later than Friday, Aug. 22. Candidates will be asked to submit a brief biography that will be published in The Record Review and posted in town before the election.
Nominating petitions are now available. For more information, contact Coulter at 914764-3137 or board President David Dow at 914-764-4597.
