POUND RIDGE, N.Y. Pound Ridge police issued a total of 18 summonses to motorists this past week, including 11 for speeding.
The busy week began April 18, when police cited a driver on Westchester Avenue for having an uninspected vehicle and a broken windshield. On Thursday, a ticket was issued to a motorist on Salem Road for making an improper right turn
On Friday, police ticketed motorists on Salem Road and Westchester Avenue for traveling 66 mph in a 40 mph zone and 65 in a 30 mph zone, respectively. The Salem Road driver was also cited for being an unlicensed operator. On Saturday, a ticket was issued to a driver going 65 in a 30 mph zone on Westchester Avenue.
Sunday, however, was the biggest day when police issued 10 tickets. Eight of them were given on Westchester Avenue, while a no passing summons was issued to a motorist on Pound Ridge Road and a ticket for going 69 in a 40 mph was handed out on Long Ridge Road. One of the tickets issued on Westchester Avenue was for driving without a license.

Suspicious Phone Call: On April 19, a Barnegat Road resident to police he received a suspicious phone call, which may have been a scam. Police are investigating.
Car/Deer Accident: Police responded to Westchester Avenue on April 19 to a report of a car hitting a deer. Officers report that the driver was not injured and no tow was needed.
