POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – A public meeting with town supervisors, housing agencies and land use experts to discuss Westchester’s affordable housing situation led the news in Pound Ridge this week.

Here are a few more top stories of the week:

  • For the second time, John Jay High School will be the setting for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life , which held a Paint the Town Purple event on Wednesday. Residents of Pound Ridge, where there is no Relay event, are invited to join.
  • The beehives at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation were invaded by a hungry black bear , which managed to scarf up 300 pounds of honey before he was detected.
  • The Pound Ridge home where peerless director Alfred Hitchcock wrote 'The Birds' was put on the market.
  • Pound Ridge residents were eager to cast a vote for their favorite pizzeria along the Pound Ridge-Bedford-Mount Kisco axis.
