What's Happening Around The Pound Ridge-Lewisboro Area This Weekend

Fireworks will be the highlight of the weekend with shows planned in both Lewisboro and Pound Ridge on Saturday night. There is plenty of live music coming to the area, including the Righteous Brother’s Bill Medley at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Here are some more weekend events.

Friday, June 29

Live Country Blues: 8 p.m. Petey Hop takes the stage with his blend of country and blues with influences from Hendrix to Hank Williams to Muddy Waters to Stevie Ray Vaughn. Admission is free. Call 914-764-3424 for more information. Mariela’s Wine & Espresso Bar, 71 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Sleeping With the Wolves: 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. The Wolf Conservation Center's new nocturnal adventure experience provides a chance to camp out overnight with the 25 wolves that call the WCC home. With all the howls, circling vultures, and nature's nighttime chatter, you'll feel like you're camping under the stars with wild wolves.  $275 per four-person tent; singles: $150. Gossett Brothers Farm Market : 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Gossett Brothers Farm Market offers fresh produce, meats and cheese as well as seafood. Gossett Brothers Nursery, 1202 Route 35, South Salem.

Wolves of North America: 11 a.m. Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why June is a special time for packs in North America. Guests will visit ambassador wolves Alawa and Zephyr as well as the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Cost is $13 for adults and $11 for children under 12. Art Exhibit Opening Reception: 4 to 6 p.m. The library will hold an opening reception for artist Stephen Kivisalu and his exhibit, “Nature & Wildlife,” a series of paintings, drawings and photographs. The exhibit will last through Aug. 11. Pound Ridge Library, 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Fireworks Night in Pound Ridge: 6 p.m. People can gather in the Town Park at 6 p.m. for a picnic supper or to dine on hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the Boy Scouts. There will be live music. The fireworks will begin at dusk. Town Park, Westchester Avenue, Pound Ridge

Firework Night in Lewisboro: 5 p.m. Parking starts at 5 p.m. and costs $20 per car. Live entertainment includes Annie and the Natural Wonder Band at 7 p.m. and Detour at 8 p.m. The Lewisboro Lions Club will be selling food, drinks and snacks. Picnicking is allowed but no barbecues. Fireworks begin about 9:15 p.m. No pets. Onatru Farm Park, Elmwood Road, South Salem.

Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers: 8 p.m. 1960s pop icon Bill Medley will perform all The Righteous Brothers’ hits, including “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling,” “Unchained Melody,” “You’re My Soul and Inspiration” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Heaven.” Tickets are $80 and are available by calling 203-403-2690 or visiting www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org . All Weekend

A Celebration of Wildlife and Art at Ward Pound Ridge : 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two exhibits featuring watercolor images, sculpture and photographs are on view. “Watershed Wildlife Watercolors,” featuring the work of wildlife artist Paul Thiesing, will run through Sept. 3. “A Touch of Nature,” an exhibit of outdoor photography by Bill Wiegelman, will run July 15.
