“This Nearly Was Mine” explores the conflicts of heart and mind and the anguish the unlikely heroine experiences as she goes through life. Annie is married to the love of her life, raising three children in Westchester County. Her curious teenage daughter seeks out Annie's ex- boyfriend while backpacking through Spain. Once he reappears in Annie’s life, she is overcome with memories of her romantic past, second-guessing every decision she’s ever made, and wonders about the life that nearly was hers.

A die-hard New Yorker, Farkas used her real-life experiences as a social worker, wife, mother and passionate world traveler to bring life and depth to her cast of characters. She currently is scheduling book signings and speaking at book clubs in the New York metropolitan area.

The Readers' Favorite contest features entries from new authors and New York Times best-sellers from more than a dozen countries. Readers’ Favorite has received “Best Websites for Authors” and “Honoring Excellence” awards from the Association of Independent Authors.
