POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- For anyone concerned that Pound Ridge needs something to once again make it a destination, the opening of Kendall Studio Gallery provides a positive reason to visit our town.

The premiere installation includes work by gallery owner and 30-year town resident Kendall Klingbeil. Also represented are other very talented artists offering fine examples of still lifes and plein air landscapes. The other artists with work on display include Marianne Kuhn, Wendy Moore, Danielle Wexler and Bart Walker.

What makes this wonderful addition to the community is how Klingbeil offers a studio setting within the gallery for those interested in advancing their own artistic talents.

The official opening for the gallery was held last Sunday and the show includes 50 paintings with 17 of these by Klingbeil. Several appeared to be sold on the first day. All of the work on display is collector friendly for those with experience in acquiring art or for anyone wishing to start a serious collection with a keen eye for outstanding talent.

While the space of the gallery appears limited from the outside, the exciting aspect of this exhibit is the continuity of talent the artists retain through their work, allowing the visitor to want more. Gale Corren Harrison, who attended the opening, described the work as “diversified and talented in many areas.”

While working with the artists currently on exhibit, Klingbeil also takes pride in working with students in her studio. “I enjoy working with people wanting to fulfill a dream of being an artist by creating and actualizing their vision,” she says.

With her plans to have a constantly changing exhibit in the gallery, Klingbeil will continue teaching art lessons privately and will also show work completed by her students.

Klingbeil also retains a strong talent for constructing children’s furniture and once produced a playhouse that was acquired by John and Yoko Lennon.

The Kendall Studio Gallery is at 23 Westchester Ave. in Pound Ridge and the phone number is 914-764-3577.
