NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – After all the years that mom took you to hockey practice, play rehearsals and/or scout meetings, fed you (at least) three times a day, bandaged your scrapes, soothed your feelings and tucked you in, doesn’t she deserve a special dinner out?
Here are some restaurants in Pound Ridge, Lewisboro and North Salem with special Mother's Day menus:
Le Chateau, South Salem: The prix fixe dinner starts with a choice of five appetizers, including crab meat in filo with champagne sauce, followed by mesclun salad, a choice of six entrees, including filet of red snapper, roasted rack of pork and organic chicken breast. Desserts include chocolate or Grand Marnier souffle. The price is $68 for adults and $29 for children.
Bernard’s, Ridgefield: Both a special brunch menu and a special dinner menu will be served. Brunch, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will offer five appetizers, including crab cakes and duck, pistachio & truffle terrine; six entrees, including lobster ravioli and eggs Benedict; and your choice of desserts. The price is $45 for adults, $25 for children. The dinner menu, served from 1 to 6 p.m., offers five appetizers, including smoked trout salad; the four main courses include striped bass and beef wellington; and you have a choice of desserts. The price is $70 for adults and $35 for children.
Vox, North Salem: The special menu at Vox, served from noon to 7 p.m., will offer five appetizers, including oysters and lobster bisque; five entrees, including filet mignon and crabmeat crusted grouper; and four desserts, including creme brulee and chocolate terrine with brandied cherries. The price is $65 for adults. There is a special menu for children. The dining patio will be open, weather permitting.
121 Restaurant, North Salem: The Mother’s Day Brunch at 121 includes four first courses, such as potato leek soup and yogurt with granola, eight entrees, including French toast and New York strip steak, and four desserts, such as chocolate lava cake and mango sorbet with biscotti. The price is $39 per person.
The Farmer & the Fish, Purdys: Eight appetizers on the special menu include lobster salad and a melange from the raw bar, nine entrees include striped bass, short shell crabs and boiled lobster, and the five desserts include ricotta cheese cake and frozen chocolate mousse. The price is $60 for adults, $30 for children. Dinner is served from 4 to 8 p.m.
