Northern Westchester Hospital Caregivers Center Serves Those Who Serve

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Caring for a loved one can be particularly challenging, especially around the holidays. That is why places such as The Ken Hamilton Caregivers Center are so important. The Ken Hamilton Caregivers Center was built to be an 'oasis' where caregivers can go to take care of themselves, find resources and support, and speak with those who understand and can help.

After her husband was diagnosed with a terminal case of Mesothelioma, Marian found herself in a crushing isolation until his death two years later. Inspired by her own situation, she founded a caregiving center in her husband, Ken's, name. After partnering with Northern Westchester Hospital and raising over $500,000, the new center opened in 2007.

In September 2014, Marian's efforts were further recognized with a "Caregiver of the Year" award from the Caregiver Action Network. Today, the center provides support to those who take care of the sick and dying.
