December tends to be the time for holiday celebrations, end of year get-togethers, splurge-worthy Saturday nights and even marriage proposals. And the Kittle House is the go-to place in Westchester.
Housed in a timber frame mansion that is more than 200 years old, it began as a barn on Ivy Hill Farm and has been many things since, such as: a prohibition-era roadhouse, school, and now a restaurant and inn.
For the last three decades, it has been the scene of many a wedding and reception.
Besides its fireplace and grand piano, the Kittle House’s other charms include a farm-to-table menu with sustainable goodies such as rainbow trout from Beaverkill Hatchery and organic chicken from John Fazio Farms.
Coming is second in the DVlicious contest in Westchester was X20, Xavier’s on the Hudson in Yonkers with 25 percent. Placing third was Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown with 13 percent of the vote.
