What To Do In Pound Ridge And Lewisboro This Weekend

LEWISBORO/POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Music lovers will delight in the eclectic lineup of performances being offered at the Ridgefield Playhouse this weekend – from the songs of Barbra Streisand performed by Ann Hampton Callaway to the folk/rock renderings of Karla Bonoff and Steve Forbert to the spectacular re-creation of Genesis’ “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” album by The Musical Box. And, as always, the local schools and libraries have events offering something for everyone.

Friday, Nov 16

Fun With Music: 11 a.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents Fun With Music featuring Laura D’Amico for children ages 5 and under. Registration is required. For more information, call the library at 914-764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Teen Advisory Group:  6-7 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library’s Teen Advisory Group will meet to discuss future programming and new books and CDs with the librarian. Ann Hampton Callaway in Concert: 8 p.m. The Ridgefield Playhouse presents Ann Hampton Callaway singing the Barbra Streisand songbook. The singer, songwriter, pianist and actress is known for her Tony-nominated performance in the Broadway musical “Swing!” Tickets are $45 for the orchestra and $40 for the mezzanine. Wolves of North America:  3:15-4:45 p.m.  The Wolf Conservation Center presents a program in which you can learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why fall is a special time for packs in North America. Guests will visit ambassador wolves Atka, Alawa and Zephyr as well as the center’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Cost is $13 for adults and $11 for children under 12. Genesis Tribute by The Musical Box: 8 p.m. This exclusive performance by The Musical Box at the Ridgefield Playhouse was authorized by Peter Gabriel and is a re-creation of Genesis’ “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.” The Musical Box returns with a rare performance of the classic album with all of the theatrics, all of the songs, all of the dazzling spectacle of the original show.
