Friday, April 19

Pound Ridge Women’s Republican Club: 7 p.m. It’s the club’s annual kickoff “Get Acquainted Evening,” to welcome new members and reunite with others. Enjoy wine and cheese as you share ideas and goals. It’s at the home of Diane Malichio on Scofield Road. Respond by calling 914-764-1146 or emailing PRWRC1952@gmail.com.

Wine Tasting in Croton Falls: 5 to 8 p.m. Join old friends and meet new ones at Front Street Cellar’s Spring Wine Tasting, featuring lighter, fresher wines to complement the warmer weather and lighter cuisine. Front Street Cellar is at 3 Front St. in the old Croton Falls Train Station.

“Working” at John Jay High School:  7 p.m. The High School Theater Workshop presents a musical adaptation of Studs Terkel’s “Working,” with music by Stephen Schwartz. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets go on sale at the door 45 minutes before showtime. John Jay HIgh School is on Route 121, just north of Route 35 in Cross River.

“Cinderella” in North Salem: 7:30 p.m. Students in grades 6 through 12 of North Salem’s Middle/High School present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” with a cast of 75, 182½ costumes, and a magical pop-up book set. Tickets are $10 and are available at the North Salem High School main office or by calling 914-669-5414. North Salem Middle/High School is at 230 June Road, North Salem.

“Doubt” in Pound Ridge:  8 p.m. The Pound Ridge Theater Company presents John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner, “Doubt, A Parable,” basis of the 2008 movie starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Tickets, priced at $20 to $24, are available at the box office, online or by calling 914-764-1902. The performance is at Conant Hall, 257 Westchester Ave. (Route 137), Pound Ridge.

The Libertine Project in Pound Ridge: 8 to 11 p.m. Guitarist Mariano Rodriguez, drummer Mike Leibson and guitar/vocalist Andy Kuusisto get together for blues/funk music at the Mariella Rossi Wine Bar, 71 Westchester Ave., Scotts Corners, Pound Ridge.

Naturalist’s Choice Hike: 10 a.m. The Nature Museum at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation will decide just where the trail leads, depending on the weather. Wherever it goes, a museum naturalist will introduce you to some of the ecological events occurring all around us this spring. The museum is in the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, near Routes 121 and 35 in Cross River.

Birthday Party for Wolves: 6 p.m. Ambassador Wolves Zephyr and Alawa will celebrate their birthdays at dusk, the magic time for wolf packs. Take a short sunset hike with other animal lovers to howl birthday greetings to the parent wolves and their pups. Wear weather appropriate clothing and bring a flashlight. Girl Scout Tag Sale: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brownie Troop #1144 is hosting a tag sale, rain or shine, at the North Salem Lions Club Community Center. Everyone is welcome. Schubert Club Concert: 3 p.m. A program of solo singers, ensembles and a full chorus will feature an eclectic selection of beautiful music in celebration of National Poetry Month. The program concludes with Robert Puleo’s “Cry of the Children,” in memory of the Newtown victims. There is no admission fee. Reservations are recommended.
