Sleeping with Wolves: 6 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., Saturday. Camp out overnight with the 23 wolves who live in South Salem. Hear the howls, watch the vultures in the sky and count the stars. Pre-registration is required. It’s at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.

John Jay Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The popular farmers market will continue weekly on the grounds of the John Jay Homestead until autumn. Farm stands this year will include Amba Farms, Cabbage Hill Farm, JD Farms, Mobius Fields, Mt. Holly Farm, Tiny Hearts Farm, John Boy’s Farm and Gaia’s Breath Farm. Among the vendors will be Ladle of Love, Wave Hill Breads, Red Barn Bakery, Whitecliff Vineyards and Bedford’s Truck Restaurant. The John Jay Homestead is at 400 Jay Street in Katonah.
Gossett Brothers Farm Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, and seafood will be on sale every Saturday until September 15 at the Gossett Brothers Nursery, Route 35, South Salem.

Soap Box Derby: 12 to 2 p.m. The Bedford and Pound Ridge Boy Scouts invite all boys and girls ages seven to 14 to drive soap box derby carts, build and launch model rockets, and enjoy a BBQ. The event is open to everyone and free. The scouts will supply all derby carts, rockets and food. Cart drivers must bring a bike helmet. It takes place at the Pound Ridge Town Park on Westchester Avenue.
Fireworks in Pound Ridge: 5 p.m. to dark: Shuttle buses will be there to take you from the Pound Ridge Elementary School to the Town Park and back again, as Pound Ridge celebrates America’s 237th birthday, with fireworks, goodies, and entertainment. The Pound Ridge Elementary School is on Pound Ridge Road in the hamlet. The Town Park is on Westchester Avenue, Pound Ridge.
Evening Howl for Pups of All Ages: 7 p.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center for a special Evening Howl and visit the wolves during their favorite hour – dusk. Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolves in North America and enjoy a sunset howl with the wolves. You’ll observe the center’s critically endangered red wolves, and Mexican wolves. The fee is $16 for adults and $11 for children under 12. Pre-registration is required. The Wolf Conservation Center is at 7 Buck Run, South Salem.

Muscoot Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Muscoot’s seasonal farmers market is now a weekly event, continuing until the end of October. There will be dozens of vendors selling prepared food and many sellers of locally grown produce. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, about a mile south of Route 35, in Somers.
Farmers and Bakers Market: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will offer smoked fish and meats, duck/chicken/goose eggs, jams, pies, scones, pasta, breads, Italian specialities, cookies, soaps and more. It takes place on the front terrace of Antiques & Tools of Business & Kitchen, 65 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.
Wolves of North America: 11 a.m. Here is your opportunity to get out your camera and photograph the Wolf Conservation Center’s ambassador wolves, Atka, Alawa and Zephyr, at home under the setting sun. The fee is $13 for adults and $11 for children under 12. Pre-registration is required. The Wolf Conservation Center is at 7 Buck Run, South Salem.
