The event will be at 4:30 p.m. March 22 at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at WCSU in Danbury. The orchestra will perform Mozart, Copland and Jonathan Strauss in a venue recently named one of the top 10 performing arts centers in the country.
All proceeds from the event and auction benefit the Ridgefield Symphony, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Headlining the list of auction items is a week-long getaway in the south of France. The winner will stay in a three-bedroom home with a private pool located outside the village of Seillans, in the Var Department. The village has been designated "L'un des plus beaux villages de France" (one of the most beautiful villages in France). It is within easy driving distance of many popular tourist destinations, including Cannes and its beaches, Nice and its shops and museums, and St. Tropez and Aix-en-Provence.
You also can bid on a vacation a little closer to home with a stay at the Surfside Resort on Cape Cod. From Aug. 21-28, you will be able to stay at the Falmouth, Mass. resort with an oceanfront condo that includes one bedroom, two baths, a kitchenette and a private deck.
Other items up for bid include a stainless steel, Swiss-made ladies wristwatch from Leonard. The watch is 22 mm with 0.55 carats of diamonds on the bezel.
Tickets for the event are $100 per person. For more information, visit the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra’s website. Tickets are available through the WCSU Box Office by calling (203) 837-8499, or online. There also will be sold at the door the day of the event.
