Raven Rocks Run Coming To Ward Pound Ridge Reservation

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – The first annual Raven Rocks Run 10K trail race will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15 starting at 9 a.m. at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River.

The Raven Rocks 10K Run is a the first new trail run at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in more than 20 years.

The race will start and finish in The Meadow at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, the same spot as the Leatherman’s Loop. But instead of going along the river, the Raven Rocks Run course seeks out higher ground. Runners will pass the two highest points in the park: The Raven Rocks overlook and the site of the former Blue Trail fire tower before heading back downhill to the Meadow finish.

The race raises funds for Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

Pre-ordering a race shirt with registration is recommended. Correct sizes may not be available the day of the race.

Raven Rocks is the final race in the 2015 Trail Mix Trail Series. Registration is $40 and closes Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Registration cost includes the $10 per car parking fee charged by the park.
