Pound Ridge Library Kicks Off Its Meet The Author Series

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge author Melinda Warshaw discusses her book “A Legitimate Life: A Forbidden Journey of Self-Discovery” Saturday as the Pound Ridge Library begins its fall Meet the Author Series.

Warshaw is an artist and musician, magazine editor, small business owner, author and activist for adoptee rights. “A Legitimate Life” is a look at her own life as an adoptee in an affluent and aristocratic family. The discussion begins at 4 p.m.

Next in the four-part series, local author Susan Picosa will give a presentation on her new book “Susan’s Bedtime Stories” on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. Picosa is a show business designer and her book chronicles her experiences of personal transformation in the area of intimacy.

The third installment will feature Audrey Insoft of Pound Ridge discussing her recent book, “Divine Fate,” on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. Based on a true story about adversity, perseverance and self-sacrifice, “Divine Fate” takes the reader from a sleepy Pennsylvania town to the bustling streets of Saigon.

The series concludes on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. with Robin Lamont of Pound Ridge discussing her new book, “Wright for America.”

Lamont is an accomplished actress who has worked as a private investigator and most recently as an assistant district attorney. “Wright for America” is about a troupe of unemployed actors who take on a venomous right-wing radio host to show him just how powerful words can be.
