Pound Ridge Library Hosts Programs For Teens, Children

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Pound Ridge Library is hosting events for teens and children in February.

Here is a schedule of events:


Mother/Daughter Book Group, Grades 6-8: Monthly on Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Next Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 27. Snacks provided. Book: "Elsewhere" by Gabrielle Zevin.

Teen Night, Grades 6-12: Monthly on Fridays, 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28: Cupcake Decorating. Use your creativity to create tasty treats. Snacks provided.

Children Weekly Programs:

Moms and Tots Story Time, 2-years-old: with parent or caregiver. Tuesdays, 10:45 a.m.

Story Hour, 3-5-years-old: Tuesdays, 4 p.m.

Mother Goose Story Time,12-24-months-old, with parent or caregiver. Thursday, 10:45 a.m.

Fun with Music with Kevin McCarthy, ages 5 and under: Fridays, 11 a.m. Weekly music and movement program.

Chess at the Library (Ages 5 and up) Fridays, 3:30 p.m. Chess instructions and guided play.

Monthly Programs:

Eager Eaters , a book group for third graders: Meets monthly on Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Next Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 13. Pizza and juice provided. Book: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney

Dinner and A Book, a book group for grades 4-5: Meets monthly on Tuesdays, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Next Meeting: Tuesday, Feb. 25. Pizza and juice.  Book: "My Life As a Fifth Grade Comedian" by Elizabeth Levy

Special Programs:

Winter Vacation Week Specials, Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 21, 2 p.m.:

Tuesday: Kids Yoga with Chiara McCarthy

Wednesday: Creative Theatre Games with Stacey Bone-Gleason

Thursday: The Magic Show with Jerry Hornak

Friday: Full-length feature film.
