The classes urge participants to take part in mindfulness meditation, which, according to the library, has been known to lower stress, improve mental and physical health and help people sleep better at night.
The first class was offered Nov. 10. Additional classes will be offered on Nov. 17 and 24, and on Dec. 1, 8 and 15. The hour-long classes each start at 7 p.m. at the library, 271 Westchester Ave.
Deirdre Breen, the founder of Self-Care Institute, Inc. and a specialist certified in integrative health coaching and personal health planning, will lead the classes.
