The event, the hospice's second tree lighting of the season, is free to the public and set to begin at 6 p.m.

The ceremony will be hosted by Lisa LaRocca, of News12. Festive music will be provided by the Fox Lane Chamber Choir and the Horace Greeley Madrigal Choir.

A second tree has stood at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights since Nov. 20. The trees will remain through Dec. 24, according to organizers.

Though the event is free, there are ornamental doves available for purchase that can be inscribed with the name of a loved one. The ornaments will be hung along the evergreens of the hotel on Holiday Inn Drive.

Doves may be purchased at the event, by calling 914-666-4228 or online at www.vnahv.org.

All proceeds from the celebration will benefit Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam's multitude of community groups, including a number of charitable community programs, bereavement support groups, art therapy, educational workshops, and financial support to under served populations.

Among the local businesses and organizations to assist with the trees are Dow Chemical, Elder Care Connection, Fieldhome, Four Winds Hospital, Highland Pork, and Putnam Hospital Center.

Hospice in Westchester and Putnam is a nonprofit. For more information on the group or the Tree of Life celebration, call 914-666-4228, or visit www.vnahv.org.
