The celebration begins at noon. There will be contests, classes and food. Contest categories include heaviest, largest circumference, most unusual, best tasting, smallest and a special recognition for children who produce their home-grown entries.
There will also be activities for children courtesy of Melissa and Doug.
Other activities include a meeting with new neighbor GrapesWine at 1 p.m.; a session at 2 p.m. on preserving your harvest; vegetable gardening 101 at 3 p.m.; a mozzarella demonstration and sample tastings at 4 p.m. with Angelo Competiello; and a brick-oven pizza throwdown with local chefs and guest judges at 5 p.m.
