Fishkill Man Stopped For Tailgating On Route 9 Faces Drug Charges

WAPPINGER FALLS, N. Y. -- A 20-year-old Fishkill man is facing a felony drug possession charge after state police found 23 grams of heroin following a traffic stop on Route 9 in Wappinger Falls, police said.

Rocco F. Guida is charged with third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance following the Wednesday, March 9 incident, police said. 

State police said his car was stopped because of tailgating, then police found the heroin in a magnetic key box under the hood of his 2003 BMW.

He's being held on $100,000 bond, or $50,000 cash, in the Dutchess County Jail, police said. He's due back in court at 4 p.m. March 11 in Wappinger Falls, police said.

The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team of the Hudson Valley and members of state police's Wappinger team were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Petrus and K-9 officer Piko, police said.
