A Westchester County staple since 1991, Mrs. Green's began as a vitamin store before quickly branching out to become the first prominent natural foods store in the area. The original store opened on Central Avenue in Scarsdale, and today, the brand boasts 16 locations in Fairfield and Westchester Counties, as well as one in New York City. "We build stores in places where others won't go," said CEO Pat Brown. "We have a focus on foods that are good for you and that will help you have a better life."

Walk through any of their locations and shoppers will notice many of products haven't traveled far to reach the shelves. "We try to partner with as many local purveyors as we possibly can," said Brown. This includes produce, meats and cheeses, when in season, as well as an array of pre-packaged goods.

Mrs. Green's caters to any consumer concerned about food they consume; with its core customer being a mom who has two or three kids, according to Brown. However, that demographic is changing and has seen the store's appeal broaden in recent years. "Being in a local community, our goal is to stay with the trend and make some trends of our own," said Brown.
